Building a Legacy of Sustainable Growth

SCEDA’s journey began in 1996, driven by a vision for community-centric economic empowerment and leadership, particularly in the southern region of Prince George’s County.

By 2006, SCEDA became a recognized voice advocating for business development, public safety, zoning, transportation, education, and comprehensive planning through active participation in local government decision-making.

In 2013, SCEDA further expanded its role by directly supporting educational initiatives, youth employment programs, public transportation enhancements, and the attraction of major commercial developments, such as the Tanger Outlets. Additionally, SCEDA embraced charitable activities by adopting local schools and participating in community initiatives aimed at improving quality of life.

Today, SCEDA remains active and influential, continually advocating at all governmental levels to support smart economic growth, promote international trade opportunities, and enhance community prosperity throughout Prince George’s County.
